In collaboration between the National Agriculture Centre and Majra – National CSR Fund

Dubai, 24 August 2026:
The National Agriculture Centre (NAC), in collaboration with Majra - National CSR Fund, is set to open registration for the inaugural edition of the Sustainable Impact Challenge Agricultural Category. The national initiative recognises Emirati farmers and farm owners whose projects drive sustainable community impact and support the UAE’s economic and social development.
The Sustainable Impact Challenge is a national initiative launched by Majra – National CSR Fund to showcase projects and initiatives implemented across the UAE that offer innovative solutions to social and environmental challenges and deliver tangible, measurable and sustainable impact. Participants can showcase their projects, with those that qualify through public voting moving forward to assessment and detailed review by experts and specialists, leading to the recognition of outstanding projects.
The agricultural category recognises community-driven agricultural initiatives led by Emirati farm owners and agricultural entrepreneurs across the country, highlighting projects that benefit society, encourage innovation, and offer inspiring national models that strengthen the local agricultural sector.
Entries will be assessed on a range of community impact areas, including creating opportunities for the community; helping productive families; training and awareness; supporting People of Determination; community initiatives; assisting schools and educational institutions; community driven agricultural innovation; and promoting agricultural culture and sustainability.
Through the Sustainable Impact Challenge Agricultural Category, NAC and Majra are presenting a dedicated platform for farmers to showcase agricultural solutions and programmes that create community opportunities and promote knowledge sharing through advisory sessions and educational workshops focused on agriculture and sustainability. The initiative also supports People of Determination and fosters a culture of sustainable agriculture, while encouraging community innovation and engagement.
Sultan Salem Al Shamsi, Director General of the National Agriculture Centre, said: “The Sustainable Impact Challenge Agricultural Category gives us an opportunity to empower farmers and strengthen community impact, while recognising initiatives and projects that offer practical, sustainable and scalable models for long-term development. This new category deepens public-private sector collaboration, helps share best practices and success stories and fosters innovation and lasting community impact within national agricultural initiatives.”
He added: “Our partnership with Majra supports agricultural projects that deliver measurable impact and encourage the wider adoption of sustainable agricultural technologies and practices.”
Sarah Shaw, CEO of Majra - National CSR Fund, said: “The Sustainable Impact Challenge offers a national platform for transforming innovative ideas and initiatives into real-world projects that deliver credible, measurable and scalable outcomes. It guides efforts and resources towards national priorities to achieve sustainable results.”
She added, “The agricultural category allows us to identify projects that offer practical and innovative solutions to improve production efficiency, optimise resource use and expand market access for UAE-grown produce to strengthen food security and the sustainability of the nation’s agricultural sector. Together with NAC, we are connecting these projects with a wider network of cross-sector partners to boost their growth, enhance their impact and transform them into scalable models that create economic, social and environmental value while supporting the country’s objectives.”
The Centre invites farmers, agricultural initiative leaders and other relevant stakeholders to participate in the Challenge and to showcase their projects and achievements. Their participation will contribute to the development of the agricultural sector and reinforce its role as an important contributor to the UAE’s community development.
Registration for the Sustainable Impact Challenge Agricultural Category will be open from 26th August to 26th September 2026. Winners will be announced at an official ceremony on 26th November 2026. Applications can be submitted online through NAC’s website.
